FILMING IN BRAZIL
There are a few reasons why producers and advertising agencies like to come and to shoot commercials in Brazil, such as: Weather, Locations, Professional crews, Exotic cast, and Football and Attractive prices.
Weather — Located in the southern hemisphere, the seasons in Brazil are the opposite than in Europe and in the US, and that allow to film summer campaigns, while it is winter up there. Hot or mild kind of weathers can be found all around.
Locations — More than 1500km of beaches, rain and tropical forests, modern cities with European architecture, colonial cities, rivers, waterfalls, huge white dunes, dry rocky deserts, and more.
Professional Film Crews in Brazil are highly professionals and using the most advanced equipment. There are a few labs and telecine suites that are the in same standard that can be found in Europe and the US. Post production services from editing to computer graphics and to SFX are also available in high level.
Exotic Cast — Brazil is a mix of races that create beautiful combinations. There are all kinds of looks and typecasting to be found easily, from various European types, to Asians, Far East, Africans, and the mixture of all of it. Due to a big TV industry there is a big variety of actors and actresses.
Football - Any commercial that is about virtuosity of football can find here more than can be imagined.
Attractive prices - All the above-mentioned advantages are even not expensive. It is even cheap. One full shooting day for commercial, on location, in film 35mm, including 4000ft (10 cans), including processing and telecine, including actors and extras in a reasonable numbers, can cost around 30K-35K Euros. This is about half the price in Western Europe and in South Africa. Hotels and restaurants are also cheaper, yet on high standards.
